X-Ray Services Improved at Memorial Health Center
(Medford) Memorial Health Center, an Aspirus partner, recently installed improved radiology equipment to enhance x-ray services for its patients. The health center’s new, multi-plate computed radiography (CR) reader is capable of processing multiple x-rays at the same time.“Memorial Health Center’s new CR reader will significantly improve patient care,” says John Mayer, Imaging Services Director at Memorial Health Center. “This technology speeds up the process of image capture, allowing for physicians to view and interpret patient x-rays sooner. It also greatly reduces the time patients have to spend in the Imaging Department for x-rays.”The new CR reader will particularly benefit patients needing several different x-rays, and Emergency Department patients involved in trauma cases in which multiple patients all need x-rays fast.CR readers are responsible for digitizing x-ray images. Digitizing x-rays enables them to be viewed faster and manipulated for easier interpretation.Memorial Health Center’s multi-plate CR reader replaces an older, single-plate reader. It became fully functional on February 8.
